More Information About this Project

Project Needs and Beneficiaries

Area is arid and suffers from acute water shortage leading to crop failures. Small and marginal farmers depend on monsoon, which is erratic and unpredictable. There is lack of crop diversification and due to lack of resources; farmers leave their land fallow. Labor-intensive farming and excessive reliance on high yield seeds and fertilizers leads to soil degradation and increase in farming cost. Women are disproportionately burdened as they manage most work within and outside the home.

Activities
