More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesA Haitian proverb spotlights the connections between disease and hunger, medicine and food: "Giving drugs without food is like washing your hands and drying them in the dirt." Almost one quarter of the children in Haiti face chronic hunger. We work to prevent childhood malnutrition through nine clinics in Central Haiti and the Artibonite District with a combination of malnutrition treatment and prevention programs for children. ActivitiesTreat severely malnourished children with Nourimanba (peanut-butter based Ready to Use Theraputic Food); provide moderately malnourished children with Nourimil (ereal-legume blend); support local production; provide a daily warm lunch to schoolkids Funding InformationTotal Funding Received to Date: $2,664 Additional DocumentationThis project has provided additional documentation in a Microsoft Word file (projdoc.doc).
