More Information About this ProjectProject Needs and BeneficiariesA majority of young children are severely affected by ongoing violence in Gaza. Schools remain crucial for providing positive reinforcement to offset psychological trauma. However, due to extreme poverty, Gazan children attend kindergarten classes in over-crowded rooms, where a teacher can be responsible for over 40 kids, and stimulating educational materials are absent. In response, RI is giving hope to Kindergarteners, by providing safe and secure spaces for them to begin their education. ActivitiesRI will provide educational materials and psychosocial support to 25 kindergarten classrooms (1,000 children) in Beit Hanoun. Learning aids, posters, storybooks, and art supplies will be purchased from local retailers to stimulate the local economy.
