When will I receive my cards?
We process orders within 2-3 business days and then ship according to your chosen shipment method. See our shipping and handling rate table for more details.
How will the cards be sent?
Orders purchased using standard shipping are sent via USPS First Class mail. Priority (2 day) and Expedited orders (overnight) will be sent via FedEx or UPS depending on the number of cards ordered and the destination.
How much do the faster shipping options cost?
Priority (2 day) shipping costs an additional $15 per address, and expedited shipping is an additional $30 per address. For full details, see our shipping and handling rate table. We are in the process of adding a 2-day delivery option.
Is the card really biodegradable?
Yes, it is corn-based and will break down into environmentally-friendly compounds once it's thrown away. The card won't break down in normal use, though and is designed to decompose in natural compounds like water and carbon dioxide.
Is the card tax deductible?
Absolutely. When you purchase a GlobalGiving gift card, 100% of the purchase price is tax deductible. If you pay for expedited shipping, however, these charges are not eligible for a tax deduction. This will be broken out the receipt.
How many can I order?
As many as you want, although online orders are limited to $10,000 per transaction. If you need more cards or wish to order a custom card, call us at (202) 232-5784 (custom cards require 2-3 weeks production time.)
How is the card sent?
Orders of up to five cards are sent in a white "invitation-sized" GlobalGiving envelope. Larger envelopes are sent in a 8.5 x 11" shipping envelope (orders sent via FedEx or UPS may use their shipping envelopes.)

GlobalGiving Gift Cards - General Information
Gift Cards enable anyone to "give" the gift of giving to a friend, colleague, or loved one. With a Gift Card, you decide how much you'd like to give, and the recipient gets the gift card via "snail mail." The recipient can then browse all the projects on www.globalgiving.com and "spend" the gift card by directing the donation to the project of his/her choice.
Terms & Conditions
Gift cards can be purchased using a credit/debit card or PayPal. We are unable to accept checks to pay for gift cards at this time. Gift cards are 100% tax deductible for the purchaser, but redeeming a gift card is not a tax-deductible event.
Gift cards may be purchased in any even-dollar amount (minimum $10).
Upon redeeming the card, the recipient can make a donation greater than the amount of the gift card, and pay for the balance using his/her own credit card/PayPal account (please note that the minimum "added" donation must be at least US $10).
The gift card must be applied in full assuming it is equal to/less than the amount being donated (i.e. recipient cannot elect to use only part of the gift card UNLESS the donation is less than the amount of the gift card).
Unless otherwise specified, the gift card is valid for one year from date of purchase. If a gift card is not redeemed prior to the expiration date, those funds will be transferred to the GlobalGiving Matching Fund. Learn more about the GlobalGiving Matching Fund.
GlobalGiving Guaranteed applies to recipients/redeemers, but not purchasers, of Gift Certificates/Gift Cards. Donors who make contributions "in honor of" someone else are also eligible to redeem the guarantee.
